Episode 01 : What is this place?

-“Hyaahh!!” Ayami yelled as she threw a punch at her best friend Jounishi.

-“Ha! You’ll haveta try harder than that if you want to be as good as me!” Jounishi replied.

-“As good as you? What are you talking about!?!? It’s you who should be worrying about keeping up with me!”

Ayami always loved martial arts. She has been studying it ever since she was 6 years old. She is now 15 and is very skilled at it. Ayami has short dirty blonde hair with big green eyes. She is very kind hearted although she has very few friends. This doesn’t matter to her because she already has the greatest friend there is, her friend Jounishi. The two of them have known each other they’re whole life considering they are next door neighbours. Jounishi has dark brown hair and brown eyes, he is much taller than Ayami but then again, so is everybody else. The two of them get along great and do just about everything together.

It was Thursday morning and the two of them were training in the small training house beside the lake, just like they always have. The lake was just behind their houses so they would always go there when something was bothering them or if they just felt like training, which was quite often.

-“Ayami!!! Jounishi!!!! Hurry or you’ll be late for school!” Ayami’s mother called out.

-“K!!! Just a minute!” replied Ayami. She managed to throw one last punch at Jounishi, then ran home to get her bag. She ran to her room, put on her favourite necklace that she wore every day on, collected her schoolbooks then shoved them into her black bag. On her way out she kissed her mother goodbye, grabbed a piece of toast then met Jounishi on her front lawn. “Man, you take so long!” he said while giving Ayami a frustrated look.

- “Any longer and I would of left without ya!” he said.

-“Yayaya! Well, I’m here now so there’s no reason to complain. Let’s go.”

When they arrived at the school, there was a large group of people near the huge cherry tree that Ayami loved to take naps in. She took them very often because her classes were boring and always made her tired. “What’s going on now?” asked Jounishi. “Probably just some bastards beating the hell out of the sec ones again.” Replied Ayami. “Kewl! Let me go help them!” exclaimed Jounishi. “Oh no you don’t!!” Ayami said while tripping Jounishi to prevent him from going. “Aww….come on Ayami…it’ll help my training!” “Nice try Jounishi but there’s no way you’re……” Ayami was cut off by the bell. “Besides, it’s time to go to class” Ayami concluded. “Damn!” exclaimed Jounishi. They walked into class and sat down, they had math class. This class was always very fun for the two of them because the teacher would never turn his back from the blackboard. This gave the class the chance to write notes, talk and in some cases, beat up the kid who sat in front of them. Ayami and Jounishi spent the whole class talking about anime and manga.

When lunchtime arrived, the two of them rushed outside to the cherry tree. “I have 10 bucks with me, how bout you?” asked Ayami. “15” replied Jounishi. “Alright then, so you wanna stop by the corner store? I’m in some serious need of candy!” He agreed that they should go, so they left school grounds and headed to the nearest corner store. On the way there, Ayami noticed that something was glittering inside a bush. She slowly approached the peculiar object while Jounishi stared in confusion.

-“What on earth are you doing now?”

-“Can’t you see it Jounishi? Look” Ayami said as she pointed to the strange object.

-“Hey! That looks just like your necklace Ayami!” Jounishi stated.

-“You’re right”

Ayami bent down to grab the object. The second she touched it, a beam of light shot towards her. “Ahh! I’m getting out of here!” Ayami screamed. “Wait!” Jounishi screamed. “Look at it. It’s floating!?!?” “Huh!?!? What is it doing?” questioned Ayami. Suddenly, Ayami’s eyes grew bigger in shock; she got a sharp pain in her head. Pictures of people she has never seen in her entire life began to flash through her mind. “Ayami…. Ayami??….AYAMI!!!” Jounishi called to her, but it seemed as if she didn’t even see him.  Jounishi, who was now beginning to worry, shook Ayami as hard as he could.

-“Snap out of it Ayami!!” yelled Jounishi.

-“Huh!?!” Ayami replied as she gazed at him in confusion.

-“Hey baka! Welcome back!” he replied. “Would you mind not zoning out on me like that?”

-“Oh….Gomme na sai…..” was the answer he received.

Once again the two of them turned to the bizarre, floating object. It was approaching them; the closer it got, the more it seemed to glow. It was then that the two of them noticed that it wasn’t the only thing glowing. It appeared that Ayami’s necklace was also glowing a bright yellow. The object finally reached Ayami’s neck and clipped onto her necklace, the two seemed to fit perfectly. The ground then began to shake. The ground beneath them was starting to crumble. A bright light began to peer through the cracks. Before they knew it, they were surrounded and trapped by light. The force threw the two of them high into the air and then into pure darkness. Before they realized what had happened, they began to fall. Soon they were able to see the sky once more. As they continued to fall, Ayami was then covered in a reddish-pink light and Jounishi in a dark, mysterious blue. They were finally thrown to the ground.

Ayami’s eyes slowly re-opened. “Um…uh…oww.” She stood up and looked in all directions only to find an endless amount of trees. “What on earth??? What is this place? What the-----what am I wearing?” she said as she stared at her clothing. “Hey Jounishi, you okay? Um…hello?? Where are you??” Ayami looked around in search for Jounishi, but found no trace of him anywhere. “Oh no…..this can’t be…..he’s just gotta be around here somewhere!” Ayami thought to herself. Jounishi has always been around and she couldn’t imagine what it would be like without him. Ayami was now beginning to worry. She started to run through the forest without paying any attention as to where she was going. “Jounishi?? Jounishi…..No please don’t do this to me! JOUNISHI!!!!” Ayami was now close to tears when suddenly, she heard a branch snap behind her. “Huh?” She turned around only to find Jounishi pushing a huge branch off of him. “Oh thank god!” she said with a relieved voice. She ran over to help him.

-“You okay?” she asked.

-“Ya I’m fine….Where the fuck are we?” He replied while he gazed into the distance. “And what the hell are you wearing?” he asked.

-“Take a good look at yourself before you go asking me that!” Ayami replied.

The two of them took a second to look at their costumes. Ayami was wearing a puffy sleeved shirt with high jean shorts. Over her shorts was a long skirt, which had two long slits on either side. Around her neck was what appeared to be a little scarf, which was attacked with a gorgeous jewel. The two long trans of hair at the front of her face were now braided with a pink streak down the middle; they were tightly tied with two small ribbons. She had brown gloves, which started at her wrist and ended at the beginning of her fingers and brown boots with a jewel on each one. Jounishi was wearing a loose sleeveless shirt, which was tied in the front with string; underneath it was a long sleeved shirt. He had a cape that almost reached the ground and it covered a bit of his front left side. He had baggy jeans and had a sword attached around his waist. Around his forehead he wore a red headband.

-“This is the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to me!” screamed Ayami.

-“Yeah…I’d really like to know what the hell is going on!”

The two of them then decided to walk through the forest to see if they could find a town or something. They were both growing very weak and hungry; they had been out in the forest for at least a couple of hours.

-“Meow!”

-“Huh!?! Did you hear that?” Ayami said.

-“No. It was nothing Ayami. You’re hungry so your mind is probably playing tricks on you.”

-“Okay…if you say so.” She said with uncertainty in her voice.

-“Meow!”

-“This time I know I heard it Jounishi! Don’t tell me you still didn’t hear it!”

-“No, this time I heard it! Lets go!”

Ayami and Jounishi started to run towards where they heard the noise. As Jounishi turned past a tree, someone crashed into him and they both fell to the ground.

-“Meow…Oww…That hurt.” Said the mysterious cat-like creature.

-“Oh! Gomme na sai! Why are you in such a hurry?” replied Jounishi.

-“Ah! I can’t stay! I’ve got to go before he gets me! Meow!” And with that she was gone.

-“Who was that?” asked Ayami.

-“Not sure, she ran off before I got the chance to ask her. She said she was running from someone.”

-“Running? Who do you think she would be running from?”

-“You baka…how would I know?”

-“I was only asking!!” Ayami replied with an angered voice.

Suddenly, a huge roar was heard from behind them that sent chills down their spines.

-“Wha…what was that?” she shrieked.

They two of them slowly turned their heads, only to find a huge black dragon standing behind them.

-“EEEK!!!!! Oh my god!!!!” Ayami yelled as she began to run in circles. “I’m gonna die!! I’ll never live to get married, or have children!! Ah!! I’m gonna die!!!”

Tears were bulging out her eyes as a huge sweat drop appeared on Jounishi’s head. He ran up towards her and punched her head as hard as he could. Ayami fell as little teardrops hung from her eyes (anime style).

-“Baka! That’s not the way a person who’s practiced martial arts all her life should act!” exclaimed Jounishi.

-“What are you talking about? I’ve practiced martial arts so I could battle people…not dragons who are 100 times my size!!! If you’re so brave why don’t you go battle him!”

-“Fine then! I will!” Jounishi stated with uncertainty in his voice.

Jounishi slowly walked towards the black dragon. He took a martial art starting pose and prepared himself to fight. Ayami on the other hand, was making her way to hide behind the nearest tree. She tilted just slightly so that she could see the battle. Jounishi then shouted, “It’s time to die black dragon!” The dragon looked annoyed. It took a deep breath and then fired a huge fire blast towards Jounishi, burning him to a crisp. Jounishi’s eyes grew big as he stood there in shock. A huge sweat drop was now on Ayami’s head.

-“Ow…..Ouch…..” he said, then fell to the ground.

The two of them just stared, wondering what to do and if they’d live or not.

- How will our heroes get out of this mess? Who was that cat-like creature?
